There’s no question about it, there are a variety of advantages to using a back pillow. Regardless of whether you are using a back pillow for medicinal purposes or only for greater comfort, a back pillow can make it more enjoyable to sleep. But sometimes people use a back pillow when a different kind of pillow would be more advantageous. It is most beneficial to the user to properly determine their actual needs and use the most appropriate pillow.

There are many different kinds of pillows, every one with specific purposes. Cervical pillows can be beneficial for sleeping in a bed as they offer a unique head cradle and support your neck. However, these pillows do not always supply the same advantages as a back pillow. In addition, when traveling, these pillows can be difficult to use.

Among the several kinds of pillows available, you can find pillows specifically designed for use in travel. These pillows are usually “U” shaped and provide support for your neck and head while resting in an upright position. However, traditional travel pillows do not support the back as a back pillow would. When traveling, the travelCOZY proves to be excellent for providing back comfort as it offers head and neck support as well as support for your arms which takes strain off the back.

Inflatable back pillows can often be used when back support is needed. Whether you are sleeping while lying in a bed or sleeping in a sitting, upright position which is common while traveling, inflatable pillows can be handy but there are certainly some things that need to be considered. An inflatable back pillow doesn’t always supply consistent support for the back because the user will often shift positions which forces air into one side of the pillow increasing the pressure where the user doesn’t need it. An inflatable “U” shaped pillow doesn’t always offer the same potential risks, but the “U” shaped pillows do not offer the kind of back support traditional back pillows do or even as the travelCOZY does.

When deciding which pillow to pick, it is important to identify just what your needs are. If your needs include back support for sleeping in a bed, a travel pillow would obviously be a poor choice. Conversely, if your needs include support when traveling, a traditional back pillow would also be a poor choice. It is easy to choose the wrong pillow as there are so many on the market to choose from. And while most scenarios will not be too extreme, it’s possible to produce greater discomfort if you use the wrong pillow.

The travelCOZY is a new take on an old thing. It combines the benefits of a traditional travel pillow with a very functional arm hammock providing support for the arms, head, neck and even the back. Of course the travelCOZY is not intended for use in a bed or to replace back pillows designed for use in a bed.

Use of a back pillow can provide not only greater comfort but also orthopedic support for a damaged back. Additionally, when used properly a back pillow can even prevent discomfort associated with an uncomfortable sleep. But users must be aware of their actual needs and use the appropriate back pillow.
